MoU between Hiroshima University and Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO) in Chile

Hiroshima University signs an agreement with Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO) and the UFRO becomes its first associated institution in Chile.

Hiroshima University’s Executive Vice President for Global Initiatives, Shinji Kaneko, pointed out that “La Frontera University is, to date, the latest addition to our international network and the first associated university in Chile.”

A new achievement in internationalization adds the Universidad de La Frontera to recently sign an institutional cooperation agreement with the University of Hiroshima (HU) in Japan , one of the most important higher education institutions in the Asian country.

Regarding this collaboration, Shinji Kaneko, Executive Vice President of Global Initiatives at the University of Hiroshima, pointed out that “we hope that this partnership further deepens the mutual understanding between Chile and Japan, as well as between UFRO and HU; At the same time, we wish to increase our presence in South America, where a remarkable future development is expected, and thus promote excellence in research, internationality and global reputation of both universities”.

The director of UFRO International Cooperation, Dr. Lorena Vieli, stated that “although our countries have very different cultures, we share several challenges in the field of training and also at the level of scientific research. This alliance formalizes strong ties that already exist at the research level between both universities, and will allow relations to be extended to other areas”.
