Honorary Professor Nakagoshi Nobukazu, formerly of IDEC at Hiroshima University, has been selected for the River Achievement Award. This accolade is granted by the Japan River Association, a public interest incorporated association, which recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions in various aspects of river management including flood control, water use, environmental conservation, as well as historical and cultural preservation, river advocacy, international contributions, academic research, and regional promotion.
Professor Nakagoshi, an expert in forestry and botany, has been actively involved in several advisory panels related to river management for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and Hiroshima Prefecture. His expert advice has greatly influenced river development and the conservation of river environments, leading to his selection for this award.
