Announcement of Recipients of SmaSo × IDEC Challenge Project 2025 Grants Awarded to Young Researchers

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the SmaSo × IDEC Challenge Project 2025 for Young Researcher Research Grant.
This program supports young faculty members engaged in crossover research, aiming to foster interdisciplinary activities that lead to societal implementation and international expansion. For this year, 10 outstanding researchers have been selected through a rigorous review process. Each recipient will receive a research grant of 500,000 yen, for a total of 5 million yen.
In addition, one researcher whose proposal was recognized as the most outstanding from an interdisciplinary perspective has been awarded an extra 500,000 yen as the “SmaSo Award.” Similarly, one researcher whose proposal was deemed most exceptional from an international perspective has received an additional 500,000 yen as the “The IDEC Institute Award.”
