Developing a Human-Centered Mobility City: Re-Designing Mobility to Create a 15-Minute City

SIP is a national program led by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI) of the Japanese Government with interdisciplinary management to realize scientific and technological innovation in our country.

The project’s goal is to create a platform that fosters safe, eco-friendly, equitable, and seamless mobility. This platform will encompass both hardware and software infrastructure, enabling the use of a wide range of mobility resources, including private cars, cargo vehicles, and innovative transportation options, in addition to the traditional public transportation methods available in the region. This effort focuses on redefining mobility resources, promoting their integration into society, redesigning infrastructure, and supporting the experimentation, implementation, and commercialization of smart mobility services.

Prof. Akimasa Fujiwara, Chief Research and Development Officer, will collaborate with Vital Lead Corporation, Kure National College of Technology, the University of Tokyo, and Pacific Consultant Co., Ltd., in the pursuit of developing a human-centered mobility city.
